Wheel Diameter for Skate Dancing

I am primarily an outdoor quad skater, skating trails for distance, but have been doing more skate dancing, both indoors and outdoors. All my wheels are 64mm diameter and bigger. Is it easier to do spins, slides, and other dance maneuvers in smaller diameter wheels?

  • I primarily skate indoors. My usual pair of skates has 55mm wheels. I need to use this size for the plates. I have skated on larger wheels with other plates. I do prefer the smaller diameter for free style skating.

  • Thanks Derek. What about wheel width? Most of my wheels are around 36 - 38mm. I tried 44's once, the same as the shuffle skaters were using and felt uncomfortable.

  • my wheels are about 26mm to 27mm wide.

  • There are steps for putting on inline skates. Step 1 - Sit down and start unfastening the buckles, straps and laces. Step 2 - Pull out the tab to make room and place your foot inside. Step 3: Tie the laces. Step 4 - Attach the straps and buckles.Step 5 - Check Fit & Go for a "test drive".
