Do the Riedell. Don't get Moxis
-
doesn't matter much for toe spins, just edge spins
-
Hi, when I started skating artistic I got an old used pair of 297s. Then after about a year I switched to the Classica for dance and Fly for freestyle. The Edea has a higher heel than the Riedell 297, and it felt like I was falling forwards when I f…

Weird the image was tiny until I logged in. Looks like Sure Grip Century or a Snyder plate,. The case is just Riedell's wheel brand, which Is Radar. I don't think it's worth anything and it's definitely not old at all.
-
Omg again I answer on this thread due to searching by recent discussions, sorry about that. Yeah I'm an art skater and we only give Snyders to true beginners in our club, they're so heavy compared to what we normally use nowadays. I missed them bein…

For artistic freestyle skating. $150 is a fine price, skates are obsolete.
-
NO it's literally just cheaper
-
From what I've seen fibers are better for actually sliding, they seem to be considered middle of the road wheels when it comes to sliding and grip. I think they are overrated and the cost is so high just because they aren't available new. From sets …

Oh my just from the mounting hardware you can tell the mount is about to be way off lol
-
Get magnums, panther mustang fox are good indoors but mostly just preference on the feel.
-
Heck yeah, I think we are all onto something. I've had cheaper bearings fail on me as well. Komplex abec 3s, and qube 8ball being the most recent from freestyle skating. So far my Roll-Lines and NMBs are holding up well. I think new cheap bearings w…

So true, replacing them often is the most sure way to have good bearings haha
-
They would help, but you would rip through them quickly. They are basically all the same so don't worry about branding.
-
Nylon plates may absorb some of the rough vibrations from just skating along, maybe a SG Probe or Bont nylon plate. Otherwise I would personally pick a Roll-Line Mistral or Energy.
-
I actually bought a set of the kwitite fomac wheels with bearings off of Facebook marketplace recently for $40, because I have never tried out fomacs. Unfortunately USPS lost the package.
-
Those are all artistic freestyle skating setups. Plates are pretty heavy and obsolete, but Sure Grip took over Snyder and some parts should still be available. In our artistic club, Snyder plates (both super deluxe and imperial) go for about $50 usu…

More precise adjustment. You can easily switch from figures to loops and vice versa by knowing how many clicks away you know you like the action.
-
This is more of a roller skating forum
-
Yeah Bones Reds or other bearings would work fine, the bearings matter the least of all the equipment. I have both Bones Swiss and Reds and there is not a real difference in performance.

https://skaters-oasis.com/Cushions-EnergyMistralDance_p_169.html This place has good customer service compared to SkatesUS and it shows the hardness to weight.

Green and Grey are soft.

For a sizing anecdote I wear a size 9 in Riedell 911s, 395s, 220s, 297s, 336, etc. and and a size 280 in Edea and Risport. Again Suonos are for LONG FIGURES. GH is basically a Chinese Edea, but actually more expensive to get a Maestro than something…

Becomes especially relevant in competitive artistic freestyle with doubles/triple jumps and higher speed travel camels with class A features like the broken ankle/heel/inverted positions.
-
Helps with your boot with not bending and collapsing under the pressure of your foot jumping, and also helps you with the landing to keep you upright with all the force coming down on one foot. Also stops your ankle from going in weird positions whe…

DO NOT do freestyle with an Edea Classica. I had one for dance but now use a Flamenco, it's a super soft boot and will not work for freestyle unless you are a true beginner. It would be very iffy for me even on something easy like a single axel. The…

The Suono is specifically for compulsory long figures. I would not do freestyle in them, but you probably can. I would recommend an Edea Overture for something cheaper, Chorus like an ice boot, or Edea Roller Fly. Riedell is awful for artistic skati…

Maybe not enough lube got under the shields. My bearings are very loud after cleaning them well but quiet down after lube.
-
The NMBs are noisy? I had the opposite experience with mine, they're so silent compared to all my other bearings. Liquid wrench is a good idea, soaking in penetrating oil would certainly work well for messed up bearings. Let me know how the syntheti…

For heel toe spins your wheels don't drag at all, wheel hardness wouldn't matter. If you are doing the LIB-RIF pressure two foot spins then you need to press more and/or use harder wheels.

Longer is better for freestyle jump landings. My Evo is a 170 and really stable, I use a 165 energy for dance but also used a 160 dance plate before for some deep edges. People go up to 2 sizes smaller for loops, 1 size smaller for dance sometimes. …
