Separate front and rear pieces

Roller skate plates ate typically one per boot. Have you tested out the skateboard approach where the front baseplate-hangar-anxle (BHA) and rear BHA are mounted to the boot separately? I was thinking about why the front and rear BHA needed to be aligned [along the same line]. Could there be "performance gains" from having them parallel to the line as opposed to on the line?

Have you experimented with something like that?

  • Like So?? Never played with having them off axis. These are Snyder parts and not inexpensive. I would suggest Sure Grip hangers and trucks. Less money. I would also suggest a Bont boot. They will hold up much better to not having any plate to speak of under the sole.

Or you could put a thin aluminum plate between the hangers and boots kinda like an old school dance plate. Just leave more room to move the hanger mounts.
